Berardino Marcello

Berardino Marcello "Dino", 88, of Binghamton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 14, 2017 with his family by his side.  He is predeceased by his parents Alfonso and Angela Marcello and a brother Vittorio Marcello.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Maria (Masciarelli) Marcello; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Alfred Castelli; son and daughter-in-law Alfonso and Colleen Marcello; grandsons Robert and his wife Kelly Marcello, Daniel Marcello and Gabriel Marcello; two great grandsons who he adored Matthew and Nicholas Marcello; sister Maria Turilli of Casacanditella, Italy; brother Antonio Marcello of Binghamton; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Dino was a hard- working, generous, caring man. He was born in Italy, lived in Australia and came to America with his family in 1971 to be reunited with his parents.   He enjoyed singing, gardening, and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.  He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church,  The Mens' Abruzzese  Social Club for over 40 years,  where he volunteered for every event.  He made the best homemade wine for family and friends.   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton.  The Womens' Abruzzese Club will meet at 6pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 37 Fayette St., Binghamton NY 13901.  Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N.McKinley Ave Endicott, NY 13760 or Danielle House 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905.  Arrangements are in the care of Albert J. DeMarco.
