Maureen E. (Ostrum) Sullivan

Maureen E. Sullivan (Butchie Ostrom), 72, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 11, 2016.  Predeceased by her husband in 1996 Thomas C. Sullivan Sr.; parents Willie and Gert Ostrom; and grandson Thomas C. Sullivan III.  She is survived by her children Thomas C. Sullivan Jr. and wife Maria, Karen Sullivan, William (Bill) Sullivan, Lorianne and husband Rob Kika, and Cathleen Schneider; her grandchildren whom she cherished and loved Ryan, Jared and Megan Sullivan, and Matthew, Max Schneider and Cooper Acly who knew her as "Bop".  Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law Kate and Sam Shantillo; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Sue Ostrom; many cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Teddy.  Maureen babysat many children over the years and treated and loved each of them as they were her own children.  Camping was a big part of her life in the Adirondacks and Chenango Valley State Park.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Paul's Church in Binghamton.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Mom's House, 770 Harry L.
