Edith L Stanton

Edith L. Stanton 96, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Fred N. Stanton; son Mark (Amos) Stanton; granddaughter Corynn L. Stanton; a sister and 3 brothers. She is survived by her children David N. Stanton, Deborah A. Fortner, Suzanne M. VanWormer; grandchildren Lisa (Rob) Stiles, Sean Stanton, Ian Fortner, Faith (Kevin) Stickles, Christina (Tim) Bolender, Laura (Jason) Dodd, Adam VanWormer;  13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews. Edith was a dedicated volunteer at Binghamton General Hospital for many years and was amazing at crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved indoor and outdoor gardening and she was known for her garden beds. Edith was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all. A special thanks to the staff at Absolut Care of Endicott for their exceptional and compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 4th, 2017 at the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904 from 9 until 10am. A Memorial Service will follow at 10am. Inurnment will be private at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
